Impact is a service user led group that aims to represent the views of service users across Bedfordshire and give as many people as possible a voice in the planning/delivery of mental health services.
Impact began in 2003 and was formally called S.U.I.P (Service User Involvement Project). We came into being when a group of service users - backed by Bedfordshire and Luton Mind and the Bedfordshire Primary Care Trust - felt it was essential that the people who use or have used mental health services are empowered to help make positive changes to them.
Since 2003 the project has evolved and grown to suit the needs of its members and mental health service users in Bedfordshire.
We endeavour to provide a supportive environment in which service users working with us feel able and confident to become involved in the decision making process of adult mental health services in Bedfordshire. We are also here to provide service users with an opportunity to comment, express and feedback their views on the services they receive.
In doing so, we aim to support the development and delivery of fair and effective mental health services to users in Bedfordshire.
