The Institute for Social Innovation and Impact (ISII) is once again expanding and we are looking for a highly motivated and flexible Administrator with a varied background and experience, to join our hard working and successful team. The ISII is based within the Directorate of Research, Impact and Enterprise and evaluates and measures the social impact of social innovations in the UK and around the world, as well as exploring the financing of, and policy support for, social innovation. The new team member will be someone who wants to share their knowledge and develop their skills and talents in supporting a multi-disciplinary research team. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic and fast-paced research environment, in which their administrative and data management responsibilities are balanced with the support of other team member’s research projects.

The post holder’s main responsibility will be to assist the research team with the collection, management and data entry of reliable, high quality data relating to the University of Northampton’s Widening Participation (WP) and National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).  The output from this data will need to be high quality, reliable, robust and insightful whilst considering any potential data protection issues. The role will also involve the management of stakeholder relationships between NCOP partners and of the data management agreements between these, so as to ensure alignment with NCOP, UN and data protection requirements.

The post-holder will also support the research team in the cleaning, analysis and presentation of primary and secondary data related to ISII projects and in the management of and formulation of existing/new data management agreements for these projects. In addition, the role will also involve the completion of other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by their line-manager. Current projects within ISII include research on social innovations in the areas of: education, young people, youth justice, social finance, social enterprise, health and well-being and employment.

Applicants will have as a minimum A-Levels (grades A-C) or NVQ Level 3 equivalents, whilst a Batchelor’s degree in a relevant field and post-graduate qualifications are desirable and sought after. The post holder will also be able to demonstrate their capability in the use of both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

The position is tenable from 1 April 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter and the contract duration is for an initial 24-month period.
