WGM Engineering is continuing with its growth plans and including adding to its existing Procurement team. An opportunity has opened up for a Buyer to join our well established team at our offices in Glasgow. Overall Purpose of the Role The overall purpose of the role is to deliver operational sourcing requirements on-time and in full for all WGM contracts in order to fully satisfy customer requirements. Continually develop and improve supply chain flexibility and performance. This role has a significant mechanical bias. Main Duties Be the point of contact for all operations accounts, requiring assistance to procure the necessary mechanical material/equipment Support delivery of WGM’s revenue and margin target through delivering all material requirements of the right quality, on-time, in-full and at a competitive cost. Drive compliance with Procurement Processes and Procedures Deliver cost improvement initiatives Be a key player in delivering core supplier’s development plan and performance targets Ensure all supplier interactions are carried out in a professional manner Understand the needs of the customer (internal & external). Taking action and ownership to prevent problems and exceed expectations Responsibilities & Accountabilities Assume end to end procurement responsibility in order to meet or exceed customer expectations focusing on quality, delivery on-time ensuring WGM gets value for money and remains competitive Follow supply chain strategies Provide and maintain accurate pricing tools for core suppliers Maintain supplier performance data for core suppliers Best practice, continually working towards or introducing better/smarter ways of working Industry feedback, advising what new goods and/or services are out there within their particular field Be an ambassador for WGM.
