Halliday Marx is recruiting a very exciting opportunity that will advance the career of an ambitious, hardworking Finance Manager with minimum 4-5 years Post Qualified experience. The role: Head of management accounting team (team of 5, with this set to expand) Responsible P&L and Balance Sheet to Gross Profit - this role will also be No. 2 to the FD Owning the reporting and the monthly close process, working with other finance teams, you and your team will be at the front of all change initiatives going on in finance Ensure timely and accurate invoicing/credit note issuance, general ledger journal postings, revenue recognition, analysis and reconciliation of relevant clients/projects Provide financial support to non-finance teams Liaise with Project Management teams, Financial Accounts, AR and AP to ensure accuracy of above and minimize aged debt Ensure data integrity within accounting system and correct set up of new programmes To assist in reconciliation of Work in Progress, Job Accrual, Pre-billed Fees and other balance sheet accounts Assist with forecasting and budgeting Work with FD and other teams to ensure SOX compliance and all Balance Sheet recs are prepared on timely basis with full understanding of risks/opportunities Projects, including: Full systems upgrade Month end and reporting improvements -re-engineering the month end close to make workflows and timings much tighter and more efficient Further integration into another company SOX compliance work Coaching and developing new team into genuine business partners and ensure success planning Desired Experience: Minimum 4-5 years Post Qualified, ACA or equivalent, ideally with practice experience and at least 2-3 years' experience in commerce managing a month end Ideally previous experience of Change management. Someone unafraid to challenge the status quo. Strong Finance systems skills with excellent Excel and understanding of complex spreadsheets Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Highly organised with ability to plan, monitor and deliver work to deadlines Ideally you will also have good US GAAP experience (or at least IFRS experience) This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/74913572
