A Harrogate based business is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join them on a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. This is a hands-on role working within a small team with a wide remit and covers ledger maintenance and payroll processing, right through to responsibility for overall financial control across all systems. The successful candidate will be willing to get involved with the basics and detail of a small finance department whilst at the same time able to operate and influence at a more strategic level. Ideally you will be a qualified accountant, with previous experience in a similar role. It is vital that you are able to lead, motivate and manage a team. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for purchase ledger maintenance, processing and control Controlling the sales ledger, including chasing of outstanding debtors Working closely with the rest of the finance team to prepare management accounts Co-ordinating the annual audit and liaising with external auditors Short and long term cash flow management to determine the level of external funding required Trade Finance and other funding applications and administration Monitoring the foreign exchange requirements and other treasury management duties Stock control, in close working relationship with the warehouse team Understanding of the business systems that drive sales and stock transactions Completion of monthly payroll processing and associated statutory returns Preparation of the quarterly VAT and Duty returns Managing insurance cover and liaising with brokers Ad-hoc project and business analysis work This job was originally posted as
