Moulton Surgery is a NHS general practice that has been in existence for over 100 years.  Our aim is to provide a traditional style of personal, accessible, family medical practice delivering high quality evidenced based care in an environment that encourages innovation.  We have a strong team to provide this.

We are looking to recruit a flexible, self-motivated and hardworking person to join our busy administrative support team.

Practice Administrator / Medical Secretary

The ideal candidate must have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, and not be afraid of a demanding, challenging and changing role where competent IT skills are essential.

You will need to have excellent customer care skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure with attention to detail. To have excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills is also essential in this role. You would need to be organised, well presented, personable, polite and patient.

To have knowledge of medical read codes and terminology and an understanding of SystmOne, our clinical database would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude and a broad ranging experience of administration. 

You will be adaptable, used to working under pressure and able to prioritise whilst undertaking a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks.  Audio typing experience and first class analytical skills are essential as the role includes management of clinical and non-clinical rotas.

Full or part time hours will be considered.  The core hours of the Practice are

Monday – Friday 8am - 6.30pm. Flexibility to cover additional hours during busy periods or when colleagues are on leave is essential.
