Data Scientist Manchester To £60,000 Expanding Tech Company in the city centre has opportunities in a growing Data Science team. What you’ll be doing… Design, execute, analyze and interpret experiments to understand real time elasticities. Develop and apply knowledge of mathematical and statistical analysis to improve dynamic pricing software, to provide competitive pricing and price perception in the marketplace Develop scientific metrics, analytics, and insight generators for optimization. Document key strategies, and analyze and track progress on strategic decisions. Identify a potential business problem, or take a business problem originated by others, and create a solution that allows repeatable analysis, and productization of the solution. Actively participate in project meetings by offering feedback on assigned tasks and gather additional information from internal members linked to the analysis project. Work with product development to assist them in implementing models in production ready tools and services. Collaborate with development team to create a single integrated library of intellectual property with appropriate management processes. Increase skills on a continuous basis to remain current with new processes, methodologies and techniques Your experience… A Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science or a related engineering/science degree is preferred. A PhD in a related field is a plus. One to three years of mathematical and/or statistical analysis work experience is required, preferably in the commercial arena. Expertise in statistical and mathematical methods, including: mathematical modeling, optimization (e.g., discrete/continuous, constrained/unconstrained, linear/convex/nonlinear, etc.), statistics, machine learning and data analytics (e.g., prediction, time-series, regression, Bayesian models, etc.). High proficiency in programming with a scientific software language – preferably R, Matlab or Python Familiarity with C/C++ programming Familiarity with programming in SQL and using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Demonstrate a good level of creativity in design of solutions. Ability to review and suggest new and enhanced modeling methodologies to meet future business requirements. Motivated to learn new mathematical/statistical skills and techniques. Self Driven – ability to lead oneself on a daily basis. Able to present material in both a technical and non-technical fashion as appropriate to the audience.
