BUILDING SURVEYOR

Leeds Trinity has been investing heavily in its campus with a number of large-scale ongoing projects to improve the estate and facilities for the benefit of both students and staff, which has now opened up this fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.  These include newly built halls of residence which opened in September 2016 and extension and improvement of the on-site learning centre which opened in September 2017.  In addition to this, there are further proposed redevelopment projects scheduled over the next few years.  
 
This role will play a pivotal part in campus management and development, therefore we are seeking an accomplished professional with a proven track record in construction projects, both design and management, to assist in the daily business and future high profile projects, in accordance with the needs of the University.  The post holder will be required to work within our existing estates and facilities team, and their duties will include, but shall not be limited to:
 
•    Specification Writing
•    Detailed AutoCAD Drawing
•    Contract Procurement/Administration
•    Contract Management 
•    Undertake Building Surveys e.g. Building Dilapidation, Whole Life Cycle Costings.
 
In addition to the above the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the procurement and efficient management of estates works and services relating to their position and related to the operation, maintenance and development of the estate.  They will also be required to assist with monitoring of budgets and ensuring that all operations and development activities are provided at optimum cost effectiveness.
 
Candidates should possess the relevant qualification/experience and meet all the essential criteria, along with membership with relevant institutions in a property/built environment related discipline.  Experience of working within a large professional estates and property team, delivering the full breadth of estates services is essential, along with the proven ability to specify and manage small to large scale estates projects.  Experience of the Higher and Further Education sector would be advantageous.
