Job Title - Maintenance Engineer Shifts - 4 on 4 off (days & nights, 6 til 6) Location - Newark Salary - £38017.50 plus overtime (OTE £40k - £45k, paid at x1.5 & x2.0 hourly rate) Benefits - Double matched Pension (5% employee / 10% employer contribution), Life Assurance, Share Save Scheme. The Company Our client is specialises in the manufacture of products for the construction market. With sites across the UK, this multi-billion pound company are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their well-established Engineering team. Their Newark site produces 100 million bricks per year and with the construction market booming this figure is set to increase to 110 million by the end of 2017. To meet this demand the company have a number of continuous improvement and CAPEX projects both underway and planned. This includes an investment of £6 million on a brand new workshop and machine shop facility. The site have also just invested in a brand new computerised PPM system, with the site looking to achieve world class manufacturing levels of 90% OEE and above over the coming months. The Role The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for all Electrical fault finding and rectification work on production systems on site. This would include fault finding through to component level with a multimeter or by interrogating the PLC via a laptop (Siemens S7), and replacing any faulty parts. Electrical components including Photocells, proximity switches, relays, inverters, contactors, PILZ units, fans, limit switches, light curtains, 3 phase motors, brake motors, servos, solenoids, lighting, LEDs, thermocouples, flow meters and heat probes. 90% of the work will be focused on work from the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule. As such the Maintenance Engineer will only be dealing with two to three minor breakdowns per day. Production equipment includes belt conveyors for transporting raw clay from the quarry, hydraulic mixers, hydraulic extruders, fixed wire cutters, chain lead kiln cars each capable of holding 25,000 bricks, hot air driers, gas fire tunnel kilns and robotic palletisers. The Candidate To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications: Must have previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer. Must have a recognised Electrical qualification (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, HNC, HND). Must have experience working on automated process equipment. Training As part of your induction you would join on a permanent day shift, working Monday to Friday. During this period you would be partnered with one of the Senior Engineers who would be you mentor during the first three months of employment whilst you learn all aspects of the production process and affiliated maintenance tasks. Upon successful completion of your training you would be moved onto 4 on 4 off shifts, on a days and nights rotation. The Business can also offer specific electrical courses through local colleges and universities, with training being either done across all members of engineer or on a case by case basis depending on what specific development and engineer would benefit from.
