Youth Engagement Worker- The TakeOver Cafe
The TakeOver Café (TOC) is currently a pilot and was set up at Inkwell after requests from local parents and young people. It is a vehicle to tackle isolation and improve young people’s self-esteem, creating a safe space for interaction and support. The service provides space for teenagers to be themselves and get the appropriate support in the local community. The position is based at Inkwell Arts, 31 Potternewton Lane, Leeds.
The hours are 4.5 hours per week. Thursday evening 2 times a month from 4.30-9.00 pm. Other weeks the hours/days are flexible.
- Support volunteers to run a bi monthly arts and crafts young person’s drop-in café
- Recruit and train volunteers (some of which may have lived experience) for the TakeOver Café.
- Support, the volunteers and participants to achieve identified goals and optimise the value, they bring to the service.
