Deputy Campus Human Resources Manager

Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week, All Year Round

Grade: SO2, £28458 - £30153 per annum

The Southfield Grange Trust is a multi-academy trust located at the Southfield Grange Campus, in
Little Horton, Bradford. The Trust comprises of two schools, Southfield School, a generic special
school and Grange Technology College, a large mainstream secondary school.
We are looking for a forward thinking HR professional to join our busy HR team.
You will be an experienced HR Advisor with demonstrable experience of building effective working
relationships with managers, coaching them to deal with their people issues and promoting HR best
practice.

You will be capable of working autonomously, deputising for the HR Manager when required. The
post will allow the opportunity to work on the full range of HR activity from Recruitment and
induction through to complex ER casework.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting on matters relating to Human Resources including:
Policies and procedures in relation to HR
Conditions of service for all staff
Safer Recruitment, selection and induction
Provide advice and guidance as necessary on all aspects of employment legislation and HRM
Best Practice
Employee Relations
Investigations – grievance, disciplinary and other HR related matters
Managing staff absence
Performance management
Staff Health and Well-Being
Participate in HR project work as required

The person
CIPD qualified.
Commitment to your own personal and professional development, including maintaining an
up-to- date awareness of HR matters and a working knowledge of employment law.
A proven track record in generalist HR Advisory work, including recruitment and selection;
performance management; discipline and grievance casework; attendance management.

Confidence in dealing with queries from managers, challenging and coaching them to deal
with their people issues.
High levels of integrity, honesty and credibility which will inspire confidence and trust from
both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage own workload within tight deadlines.
Highly motivated, confident, ‘can do’ problem solver and self-starter.
High level of IT Literacy and the use of HR Systems.
Positive attitude, willingness to work flexibly, including outside normal hours of work.
Desirable attributes:
Experience of working in an educational environment.
Experience of developing policies and procedures.
Payroll experience.
