We require caring and professional individuals, with some experience of ‘home-style’ cooking, to join our team.
Your first role of the day will be to assist with breakfast, going on to freshly prepare lunch for our residents - which includes a starter and two different ‘home-style’ main courses and desserts. While lunch is being eaten you will prepare sweet and savoury treats for supper, before cleaning down the kitchen and completing your daily/weekly checks.
No professional experience is necessary, but experience from a previous role as a kitchen assistant, cook, or chef would be beneficial.
You will be joining a team that delivers high quality person-centred care to people living with dementia. An integral part of this is providing residents with a choice of delicious and nutritious home-cooked meals made from scratch - working from menus which have been developed according to Food Standards Agency’s ‘Eatwell Plate’. However, you will have the option to alter your own menus and to liaise with local suppliers to take advantage of seasonally available meat, fresh fruit, vegetables, and salad.
Your role will centre around the preparation, cooking, and serving of all food and drink required for the day. This will vary dependent upon the choices offered and selected by individual residents from the Menu of the Day. You will also ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and tidy, adhering to the relevant required Food Hygiene, and other legislative, regulations.
We require dedicated applicants with a professional attitude, and that special caring quality that sets them apart from the rest.
We strongly believe in developing the skills of our staff and offer an extensive range of training courses.
To be able to prepare and cook nutritious meals/food and meet all special dietary requirements - e.g. allergies, cultural requirements, and lifestyle choices.
NVQ or Diploma Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking or equivalent
Experience as a chef, cook, or kitchen assistant
