SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR, YOUTH RACING
9 – 12 month Maternity Cover (starting 12 February 2018)
Our ambition is to be the best sailing nation in the world. Do you want to be part of the team who achieves that? The Youth Racing Department’s primary focus is to support and develop youth sailors to win medals for the British Youth Sailing Team, as well as retaining our young racers in the sport. Help us with our mission and join our fast-paced, dynamic, world class team. If you can demonstrate the right values, mind-set, passion, commitment and competencies to achieve the ambition, then read on.
This role is a 9-12 month contract covering a period of maternity leave. We will need you to manage a variety of projects ranging from one-day domestic training camps to 2 week World Championships. On top of this you will be expected to ensure your event logistics provide a cost effective solution every time. Reporting to the RYA Youth Operations Manager, you will manage the diary/logistics for the Youth Racing Manager and work alongside two other Senior Administrators forming a cohesive team of outstanding individuals.
Computer proficiency is paramount, we love an excel spreadsheet, do you? We also use online event entry systems for all our in-house events and your duties will also include regular editing of the RYA website. While computer literacy is essential you also need to be a good verbal communicator. We need someone who is not afraid to talk, or listen; be sympathetic, yet stand their ground. Daily interaction with sailors, parents, coaches, sailing venues and travel companies, both in the UK and abroad, means that this job is never dull and no two days are the same.
If you are a passionate, determined self-starter with respect and integrity who doesn’t mind the odd day (or week) out of the office then fill out the application form and make us notice you by highlighting your capabilities and relevant experience. Although a passion for sailing is desirable, it is not essential.
Starting Salary £19,700 per annum (pro rata) - 35 hours per week
Range of benefits including pension scheme, free life insurance, 23 days annual leave (pro rata), plus public holidays. Closing date for applications: Thursday 14 December 2017. Interviews to be held: Tuesday 19 December 2017
The RYA is committed to equality of opportunity.
