Salary: Salary: £21000 - £23000 per annum (depending on experience and qualification level)

Full time: 37.5 hours per week with on-call duties on an agreed rota basis

About us:

Camphill Milton Keynes Communities is a charity providing unique person centred support, based on a modern view of the Camphill movement, for adults with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions, as well as a number of people living in the Milton Keynes area who have a learning disability. We support our service users in all aspects of their daily lives, and believe that each person should be valued for their contribution to the community.

About the Role:

We are seeking a social care team leader with experience of promoting independent living and person centred planning, with a minimum Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care.

This role is an opportunity to put your professional values and principles into real action with service users at the heart of your thinking.

You will work as a member of the day to day hands-on Care & Support Team in close liaison with our Care & Support managers. Leading collaboratively the staff and volunteer team within your house you will provide high quality care and support to residents. The role will also involve effective recording, reporting, monitoring and maintaining residents and service documentation. You will also ensure the Charity continues to be compliant with CQC (currently rated good) and continuously seek and implement methods to improve standards.

It is important that you can demonstrate a flexible approach to work as you will be required to cover a weekly rota, which includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins and on-call duties on an agreed rota basis.

About you:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Health & Social Care.

  • Previous experience in social care, working with people with learning disabilities or complex needs.

  • Experience of identifying support needs for service users who have a learning disability, autism or dementia.

  • Experience of completing Service user documentation, e.g. Care & Support Plans, Risk assessments and other relevant review documents.

  • A caring and supportive disposition.

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Capable of working with minimum direction.

  • Ability to lead, supervise and train less experienced staff members.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience of record keeping.

  • A valid driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK.

  • Willing to work in accordance with our Vision and Mission Statement.
