Job Title: Quality Technician / Junior Engineer Location: Peterlee, County Durham Salary: Up to £28,000 dependent on experience Position: Full Time, Permanent Established over 30 years ago, the company, based in County Durham, is a market leader in the field of electrical test instrumentation. They provide total test solutions to enable companies and organisations to comply with the demands of all types of legislation and covering a wide range of international standards for the manufacturing, medical, 17th edition and safety testing industries. The company is now looking for a Quality Technician / Junior Engineer whose main role will be assuring consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems; validating processes; providing documentation; liaising with other departments and Customers. Ensure the integrity of record keeping and of the Quality Management system. You will also provide support across the business to ensure adherence to legislative and quality standards. Purpose of the role: This role and the development of the role will be instrumental in us achieving our 20|20 vision and goals Reducing Customer return rate from circa 1.5% to 0.75% (stretch target) Supporting Right First Time philosophy. Target to improve 1st Cal pass rate to 95% and 2nd Cal pass rate 98% Support sustaining ISO9001:2105 with 3 minor NCR's Provide monthly reports and regular updates to Head of PE & QA on factory performance (Quality). Drive data based strategic improvement projects Key Responsibilities: Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. 1st line handling and investigating customer QA issues Support Supplier Quality reviews Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance -qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Ensuring all work is carried out in line with Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements Any other reasonable technical duties as required Competencies Oral and written communication Organizational, strategic planning and problem solving Analytical, thorough and professional Meeting deadlines, multitasking and time management Tenacious and results driven Customer-centric Dealing with complexity Promoting excellence Experience & Qualifications Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering or Technical discipline, or Demonstrable experience in a similar role within an electronics manufacturing environment, or Demonstrable experience in an Engineering/Technical role within a manufacturing environment Conversant with regulatory standards - ISO9001:2008 / 2015 as a minimum Please click the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.
