We have vacancies supporting adults for full-time and part-time Support Workers in our registered care services in Glenfield, Leicester. About the role You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities might include exercise, listening to music or going to the cinema and theatre, or supporting someone going to church, shopping or out for meals. Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, you may be required to help with intimate care or medication. They can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support. The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service. You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins (at least 2 per month). What we need from you Experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive approach and are willing to learn. It is preferable for these positions that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you can then drive the service vehicles.
