Following expansion in the past year they are one of the largest providers of industrial services and liquid waste collection services in the country. There depot in Berwick-Upon-Tweed specialises in the recovery from waste of products such as mercury, nickel, copper, tin and catalyst and are looking for a plant operative.
The Role of Plant Operative
An opportunity has arisen at the Berwick site for a new Plant Operative. Following training, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the plant or process that you have been assigned to. You will be required to operate a fork lift truck, for which training will be given if the appropriate licence is not already held. You will be responsible for following strict site safety rules and ensuring that you wear PPE as required by site instructions and maintain it in good working order.
Compliance with strict safety rules is paramount and to apply for the post of Plant Operative you must be able to follow safety instructions and demonstrate a strong safety culture. In order to follow operating instructions, you will also need GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Much of the work is manual and you should be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
