Ancillary Staff (reception, finance and catering)

Reporting to Office and Administration Manager

£7.50 – £9.00 (depending on experience)

To be available from beginning of March 2018 with a programme of training, induction, visiting other Youth Zones in the network and pre-opening events.

A unique opportunity to be part of a brand-new charity which is part of a network of hugely successful Youth Zones, with a state-of-the-art building offering a wide range of activities and targeted services for young people.

Chorley Youth Zone is under construction and is due to open in April 2018.  Attracting young people from across the borough and beyond through its fantastic facilities, the Youth Zone is a registered charity and will provide positive activities and practical support, with the aim of enabling young people to make constructive use of their leisure time and raise their aspirations.  The Youth Zone will be open seven nights a week, at weekends and during school holidays.

The Roles

Our ancillary staff will be responsible for ensuring the staff, young people, families and visitors receive a polite and respectful welcome at Inspire, Chorley Youth Zone. As well as ensuring the back office runs smoothly. They will provide direct support to the youth work delivery team of both staff and volunteers and will represent Inspire in a competent and professional manner.

We are looking for enthusiastic, organised, customer / young person focussed individuals to make up a team with a range of skills such as excellent customer service and great communication, who are also passionate about working with young people and improving lives. You will have experience in one of the following roles

Reception, Catering and Finance

Reception Lead – 1 x 30 hour post  

Receptionist – 1 x 20 hour post

Apprentice Receptionist – 1 x 40 hour post

Catering Supervisor – 1 x 25 hour post

Finance Officer – 1 x 10 hour post – 2 hours per day AM

The Person

With substantial and proven experience in your chosen field, you will:

  • have successfully delivered services, possibly in challenging circumstances
  • have a passion for supporting young people
  • hold a professional qualification in your chosen field or equivalent skills and competence. 
  • have experience of working as part of a team and of working with young people with good organisational skills

be able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, with a considered and decisive approach, and strong interpersonal skills
