JOB TITLE: Production Operative

LOCATION: Preston, Lancashire

SALARY & BENEFITS: £27,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience

WORKING HOURS: This role is part of a rotating 4 on/4 off shift pattern which will involve rostered weekend work.
THE COMPANY: Our client is a family business, based in the North West manufacturing animal feeds and due to expansion requires Production Operatives. This position will be based in Preston. 
Key Responsibilities of a Production Operative to include:-

To monitor the feed as it goes through the mill.
Ensuring the correct ingredients are added at the right time.
To make sure that the pressure of the machines are correct reporting any discrepancy to your upline.

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment. They must be computer literate with adaptive communication skills as they will be liaising with drivers, other colleagues and senior management. Working in a team of 3 under the supervisor you must be able to pick things up quickly and learn new skills. Our client is ideally looking for someone who has some previous maintenance skills as some reactive maintenance may be required during the shift.
Key experience / skills essential for the role of Production Operatives based in Preston, Lancashire

Must live within a commutable distance of Preston, Lancashire
Will have previous experience working in a food mill or an understanding/work experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
