We provide 2-person, large item multi-drop delivery services for major retail partners around the UK. We are currently delivering 80,000 large parcels per annum and have ambitious growth plans. There are currently two delivery depots: one in the North West and the other in the Midlands, with further hub expansion planned over the next couple of years. This role is based at our Daventry site. We are looking for someone that is keen to make a difference and is driven to succeed. We are looking for a flexible individual who can work 35-40 hours per week within the core hours 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday. Some weekend work will be required during peak and in the future as the business expands, to facilitate weekend deliveries. Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring drivers arrive on time to start their shift, reporting any lateness to the Home Delivery Lead Supervisor/Manager and ensure vehicles depart at specified time. Complete return to work forms for employees after a period of absence. It is the responsibility of the Supervisor in charge of the shift when the employee returns from a period of absence. Ensure drivers comply with uniform standards and personal protective equipment. Supervise vehicle checks ensuring they are carried out thoroughly and relevant paperwork fully completed. Complete any defect action reports following required procedure for Driver Manager. No vehicles are to leave the yard without the relevant checks completed and signed off by yourself or Lead Supervisor/Driver Manager. Check vehicles for any signs of damage which may have not been reported prior to departure. Ensure accident forms are completed accurately and thoroughly following an accident. Ensure drivers complete product counts and any issues are addressed. Ensure drivers are fully equipped to complete the deliveries including trucks, straps, phones, Sat Nav, toolboxes and report any issues to the Driver Manager. Responsible for ensuring all routes are correctly manned, liaising with Head Office to find replacement drivers to cover absences or re-arrange drivers accordingly. Check for complaints to avoid cancelling/ amending these routes. Inform route planning of any impact on 2-man deliveries if the required number of drivers is not available. In conjunction with the Driver Manager, decide whether it is safe to depart in bad weather. Provide field training for agency staff and new starters as requested by the LDriver Manager and complete the required documentation. Communicate procedural changes to the team as advised by the Lead Supervisor and Driver Manager and record signatures. Provide a daily phone call to the Driver Manager to report and update on any issues/queries and/or damages. The Supervisor/s vehicle/s should be the last to depart after all other routes have safely departed.
