Controls Engineer – Warwickshire – Permanent - £40-47500 Bonus Generous Pension Contribution and Flexitime Hours Headlines – Tendering / Proposals focussed role with limited travel to site Market leading company dealing with household brand names, great package Samuel Frank Associates is now recruiting for an experienced Controls Engineer to join a very well-established Engineering business in Warwickshire The successful Controls Engineer will need to have a background in Electrical, Automation and Control Engineering. The client is looking to find someone with a minimum of 10 years experience in automated control systems, extensive knowledge of PLC and automation control system solution design – from concept to finished system - including hardware design, cabinet manufacturing standards and techniques, software design, functional safety, electrical installation standards and methods, on-site commissioning. This role will suit a Controls Engineer looking to move into an office based role into a Tendering/Bid/Proposals capacity. A background in industrial controls/electrical engineering is essential. Main duties will include: Produce and co-ordinate all customer quotations / estimates Work closely with the sales team and engineering specialists Technical analysis of enquiries Commercial analysis Liaising with customers to clarify requirements Estimating costs of materials and labour Producing other supporting materials (GA, schedules, pre-qualification questionnaires) as required Pro-actively monitoring and following-up quotation submissions Carrying out technical handovers to engineering colleagues To improve the accuracy & efficiency of tenders, the role will include assistance with development of: A framework of up-to-date supplier pricing Common pricing tools Template activity costing schedule Template tender documentation The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following: Good commercial knowledge and experience An electrical and/or controls background – “time-served” would be ideal Knowledge of PLC, HMI and/or SCADA systems Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written Excellent eye for detail, particularly in written documents, presentation Full UK driving licence Experience of working to Quality systems ISO 9001 The role is easily commutable from Eastern and Southern parts of Birmingham, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Alcester, Banbury, Northampton, Rugby and Redditch.
