A client of Job Shop Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to work in a Care Home based in Littlehampton working Days. Job Role The supervision and co-ordination of a team of staff involved in the care of patients. This involves allocating key and associate workers and ensuring the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of Care Plans and Risk Assessments. Responsibilities Act as key worker for nominated patients by planning, assessing and evaluating Care Plans and Risk Assessment. Prepare for, and participate in team meetings and other appropriate multi-professional meetings. Keep updated on new clinical and nursing developments. Ensure a high standard of clinical nursing procedures and treatments including the custody, storage and administration of drugs. Assist the Manager in implementing procedures and systems for maintaining the highest standard of care, which reflect the stated philosophy and objectives of the company. Undertake training courses, external and internal, as required by the company. To be aware of the changing needs of patients and to bring these to the attention of the multi-disciplinary team. Effectively communicate with patients, colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team and to strive for the maximum co-operation and co-ordination, and to participate in forums designed to further good communication. Respect resident’s individuality. Encourage and support patients in reaching their optimum levels of achievement and independence. Maximise the choices available to patients and to foster their autonomy. Promote and be involved in quality assurance initiatives designed to achieve high standards of nursing care. Ensure patients’ files are kept up to date and to a professional standard. To provide a professional and respectable role model and respecting the integrity of the company at all times. To provide supervision for junior staff in carrying out clinical work and the agreed policies and procedures. Exercise leadership within the service through effective communication, organisation and client and employee relationships. Ensure compliance with the requirements of all legal and governing bodies including the requirements of the Care Quality Commission and work in accordance with all relevant legislation. Ensures that effective communication systems exist so that all staff members work as a team. Recognise the need for staff development and contribute effectively to staff meetings and staff training.
