Head of English
Calderdale College is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader who has the ability to engage and motivate a team to become high performing teachers to assist in achieving high level A* to C GCSE English achievement for 16 to 18 year olds. The successful candidate will have experience in leading an English curriculum area and will be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership in the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of the English curriculum. They will also have a strong desire and ability to follow through in continuously improving the quality of learning, teaching and assessment related to English GCSE provision. The successful candidate will also have a passion for leading a team to achieve high GCSE results in the English arena and will have demonstrable evidence of having steered a English curriculum area to achieve high results in A* to C in GCSE English.
To be suitable for this role you must have a first degree in English and PGCE teaching qualification.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong record in leadership and be able to provide evidence around leading a team to deliver outstanding results in GCSE English grades. They will also have strong motivational skills with an ability to direct a diverse team to achieve a vision of high achievement in GCSE English. You will be able to work with a range of different stakeholders in order to focus on improvements in teaching, learning and assessment leading to high levels of A* to C achievement in GCSE provision.
