Technical Sales Assistant

Achieve and exceed the agreed new business sales targets within your allocated territory/ markets with the required mix of business.

• Oversee new business opportunities that arise by assisting with the sales process (licences, sample data etc.), compiling/ maintaining client databases and some element of cold calling.
• Be proactive in identifying and meeting prospective customers through your own activities and in conjunction with in house marketing activity and partner relationships.
• Work with in-house resources to produce and present innovative proposals tailored to individual customer needs.
• Ensure that all sales leads, prospects and associated activities are recorded and maintained on the Ambiental CRM system in the required format.
• Assist where necessary in the delivery/ installation of each sale and ensure speedy completion.
• Lead qualifying and initial contact with new clients for bespoke projects
• Responding to client enquiries by being proactive and efficient in order to ascertain client requirements and disseminate work/ questions as appropriate
• Researching new markets and products along with competitor and partner research to assist with strengthening our products offering
• Requirement scoping of potential new clients & products
• Developing relationships with clients/ partners • Supporting on grant applications.


Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Experience in identifying, developing and closing new client business through your own initiative and in conjunction with in house departments as required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of selling a high value service to medium/large, companies/corporates that has involved multi-level contact across different business functions of the client’s business.

This assumes an ability to oversee an extended sales cycle using your initiative at all times to ensure that the sale continues to move in a positive direction.
• Ability to structure and present a business solution based on identified customer needs and objectives and present using their terminology. Ability to be creative in building a customer business case in line with Ambiental capabilities and differentiators so that maximum value add can be demonstrated.
• Ability to work with technical experts; demonstrating your ability to coordinate their involvement in pre-sales activity.
• Demonstrate a strong problem solving capability and the ability to prioritise a heavy workload.
• Smart and quick learner with good organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Focused, goal oriented individual with strong resilience and strong desire to succeed.


• Some technical/ GIS background
• An understanding of hydraulic modelling or geographical processes.
