JOB TITLE: Milking Systems Engineer 

SALARY & BENEFITS: £Dependent on Experience + van, mobile phone, laptop

WORKING HOURS: Monday-Friday + on-call rota 

THE COMPANY: Our client is a successful and well established manufacturer and distributer of milking equipment worldwide. Globally renowned, but privately owned, they have been supplying the dairy industry with a multitude of milking solutions for over 70 years in more than 80 countries, ensuring farmers maximise the productivity and profitability of their dairy businesses. Due to growth, our client is currently seeking a Milking Systems Engineer to join their team in Ellesmere. 

THE ROLE: As a Milking Systems Engineer, you will be working from the Ellesmere office, dealing with a varied set of daily responsibilities and tasks. You day could involve problem solving when a system goes down, testing new technology and being involved in training – both learning and teaching or you may be advising on repairs or maintenance over the phone and assisting in installations. Travel is required within this role, both throughout the UK and abroad, so flexibility is required to travel at short notice. 

Key Responsibilities to include:
• Carrying out commissioning and service of all products sold in accordance with company procedures, throughout the UK and, when required, overseas
• Preparing material specifications for automation equipment and systems for Customer Services
• Assisting in the preparation and presentation of training
• On a rota basis, in conjunction with other team members, providing 24 hour, 7 day stand-by support in case of breakdown and failure of equipment and systems, including robotic milking systems
• Providing technical support to dealers and distributors via telephone and written material
• Assisting in the preparation of Technical Documentation
• Maintaining records of work carried out including materials used
• Participating, where required, in the development programme of electronic equipment and systems
• Assisting with any other function, e.g. shows, milking machine installation and service and technical sales support, which are deemed necessary by the company
• May require overseas travel at short notice

THE CANDIDATE: To be considered for the Milking Systems Engineer position you must hold a Full Driving Licence, ideally clean, and hold relevant qualifications or experience within Engineering. It is also highly desirable for candidates to have knowledge of dairy farm husbandry, although this isn't essential. 
Key experience essential for the role:
• Full Driving Licence, ideally clean
• Relevant qualifications or experience within Engineering 
• Good Engineering skills 

Key experience desirable for the role:
• MEA Level 2 Accreditation
• Working towards MEA Level 3
• NVQ in Land Based Service Engineering
• F GAS Qualification
• 17th Edition Electrical Qualification
• Minimum standard of literacy & numeracy
• Foreign language skills
• Qualification in dairy farm husbandry
