Membership Manager (Account Manager)

Our client, a leading transatlantic business organisation is seeking a talented, creative and business-oriented Account Manager/Membership Managerto build and manage a portfolio of Transatlantic and Corporate members. The role is available from August 2016, located in London.

The Account Manager/Membership Manager is the key point of contact for members, and is the first point of contact for prospective members. The Account Manager/Membership Manager engages members and ensures that they receive the maximum value and service from their membership with the organisation.

The Account Manager/Membership Manager will closely work with the Events, Communications and Policy & Trade team, and report to the Director of Membership.

The ideal candidate will have experience in client relationship-building and service-delivery based on a comprehensive understanding of the services the organisation provides to its members. We welcome interest in the UK-US relationship and personal drive and ambition to help our organisation grow. The role offers scope for own initiative and room to develop and expand responsibilities and skills.


  • Build and maintain key relationships within each existing and prospective member account
  • Develop member account engagement plans with top tier members that reflects the company standards, member interest and business environment
  • Develop strategic proposals in partnership with colleagues from the Events, Communications and Policy & Trade Teams
  • Help to build and inform the organisation’s programming based on member feedback and interest
  • Proactively identify and approach prospective members in line with the organisations programming and objectives
  • Demonstrate ownership confidence and commitment to delivery strategy, process and results


Ideal candidates should have the following:

  • 2+ years in an account management role and/or B2B sales experience
  • Consistent approach to personal and professional development
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and comfortable working with senior business representatives
  • Ability to think strategically and identify/propose/implement relevant opportunities for members
  • Be open to evolving tasks and responsibilities
  • Be detail-oriented, accurate and organised and have strong writing skills
  • Interest in the transatlantic relationship
  • Experience of working for or with a membership or not-for-profit organisation (desirable)
  • Experience with SRM systems (desirable)
