WORKING HOURS: Full time – Shift pattern

THE COMPANY: Our client accommodates up to 10 residents at each of their homes based in Emsworth and Southsea . The service provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and other needs, including physical disabilities and challenging behaviour. People are supported through individual care planning and a positive behavioural support approach. 

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Residential Support Worker to join them where full training will be given to with the right qualities and passion for the role. 

THE ROLE: The role of Residential Support Worker is to assist each individual with day to day living. Each individual has their own specific needs. Support is required in all aspects of their lives including attending appointments and general daily duties. There are also sleeping in duties in which you will be required to offer support if needed throughout the night. Positions are available at both Emsworth and Southsea.

This role is to cover a rota shift pattern of weekends, evening and mornings as well as sleep in's. 

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for this role will have strong effective communication skills. A good command of the English language is essential to communicate with residents. Our client believes that the best Residential Support Workers are the ones with the right attitude and values to do the job. This means that even if you don’t have any experience of this kind of work our client will provide all the training and support you need. 

They require someone who is person centred in supporting the individuals to achieve a high quality of life and encourage them to attain their goals and wishes.

Key experience essential for the Residential Support Worker role:

• Due to the nature of the role, you must be over the age of 18.
• Previous experience within a similar role will be advantageous but not essential 
• Understanding, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others.
• Good level of verbal and written English 
• Live within a commutable distance of Emsworth or Southsea
