PR and Communications Assistant

Hours: 20 hours per week - part time

Location: Northampton Salary: NJC Scale Point 19 -21 £18,560 - £19,939 pro-rata dependent on experience

An exciting opportunity to join an award winning charity as PR & Communications Assistant. You will assist with communications activities across the charity and organise and facilitate various events from conferences and celebration events to training programmes.

About the role

You’ll work with the PR, Communications and Events Officer to provide communications support and implement campaigns to promote the charity and the wider voluntary and community sector of Northamptonshire. You will help to project manage events and take an active role in digital communications.

It will be your responsibility to:

  • Upload material and artwork to a range of communication platforms including briefings, e-bulletins, blog posts and promotional leaflets
  • Manage the charity’s social media channels and assist with social media campaign planning
  • Assist with the creating and planning of events
  • Identify new event opportunities for the charity
  • Assist in updating the website and keep it current, fresh and engaging
  • Work as part of a team to promote the charity’s services and brand, acting as a brand ambassador

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a good all round communicator who is proactive, creative and organised. You will be a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of coordinating office activities, managing information and facilitating internal operations. You should have a good understanding of communications, brand and PR. Experience of social media platforms, and writing for the web is desirable. You should thrive on managing a busy and varied workload and possess a positive can-do attitude.

This role would suit someone wanting to broaden their experience and knowledge and will provide you with a solid platform to grow and develop your skills in communications, events and the charity sector.
