LOCATION: Northampton, Northamptonshire

JOB TITLE: Quality Control Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: Depending on experience + 32 days holiday rising to 37 after 5 years of service

WORKING HOURS: Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm 

THE COMPANY: Our client is a rapidly expanding shoe manufacturer who pride themselves on their tradition and history within the Northampton area. From being established in 1873, they have held a strong position within the industry and continue to develop and seek new ventures. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Control Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

THE ROLE: The role of a Quality Control Manager will be to support the Production Manager and promote a quality conscious environment working with all team members and managers to support and improve quality within the factory. Conduct audits, material testing, monitoring and analysing performance and highlighting and eliminating supply issues.

Key Responsibilities/Duties of a Quality Control Manager to include:- 

• Examine footwear produced in all departments within the factory for quality of workmanship
• Inspect selected rejects at the end of the Shoe Room after final examination and decide if item should be returned to stock, repaired or rejected, while liaising with the Room Manager.
• Inspection of all components/materials purchased by the company, some travel to supplier sites may be necessary. 
• Organise the testing of new Components/Materials for possible use in factory production. 
• Inspect worn and un-worn returns and assess if credits are to be issued. 
• Produce weekly reports for total rejects produced in the factory. 
• Inspect a quantity of new shoes in the Warehouse to ensure quality standards. 
• Assist with problem solving for any quality problems within the factory. 
• Organise material test requirements for products shipped to China stores as and when required, keeping a data base record of all results for checking pass certificates. 

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Quality Control Manager role will be trained and have previous experience in this type of work. You will be an excellent communicator with a passion for ensuring superb quality products are being produced. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Northampton.
