WORKING HOURS: 9am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (there will be a requirement to work the evening of an event).


THE COMPANY: Our client are media experts who are home to some of Devon and Cornwall’s most loved and trusted newspaper and online brands such as the Western Morning News and The Herald. They are the one stop provider for local news content, advertising, marketing services, plus events and award ceremonies. They are currently looking to recruit an Events Coordinator to join their team based in Plymouth,Devon.


THE ROLE: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented Events Coordinator to join our client. Reporting to the Events Manager this role will require the chosen candidate to coordinate the events and award ceremonies offered throughout the Devon and Cornwall areas.


Key Responsibilities for the Events Coordinator to include:-
  • Running events to a smooth and professional standard
  • Seeking and maintaining relationships with event venues, entertainment and staging
  • Planning event aspects such as seating, dining, and guest lists
  • Directing event set-up, and coordinating activity on the event day
  • Organising and promoting nominations and ticket sales
  • Working closely with various departments to ensure events artwork and press coverage is accomplished
  • Planning multiple events at once.


THE CANDIDATE: The chosen candidate for the Events Coordinator position will be a passionate individual who loves organising events and award ceremonies. They will also need to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Excellent organisational skills – The chosen candidate will have had some prior experience organising events.
  • Can collaborate with others as part of a team – The role will require the chosen candidate to work alongside other departments.
  • Work under high pressure – The chosen candidate will be good at managing and organising multiple tasks at a single time.
  • Good customer communication skills – The chosen candidate will need to be able to communicate with sponsors, nominees and VIPs in a professional manner.
  • Outgoing and friendly – The candidate will be approachable and enthusiastic who can help our client to maintain their current standard for events.
  • Travel around the region will be required so a full and clean driving license is essential.
