THE ROLE: Assistant Engineering Manager (Maintenance)-, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

To assist the Engineering Manager in planning and delivery of the planned and reactive maintenance
activities to both Premises and warehouse production equipment on the client’s 2 sites( Papworth &
Duxford) ensuring that availability, efficiency and quality is optimised.
To implement continuous improvement in all activities and processes within the remit of the site
Engineering Team, deputising as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities to include: - Warehouse Distribution Assistant- Duxford, Cambridgeshire
• Lead by example on H&S 
• Take responsibility for the mentoring of engineering apprentices 
• Demonstrate excellent time management skills 
• Use Root Cause Analysis to identify faults and implement improvements 
• Act as a role model and identify opportunities for Lean and Business Improvement 
• Work closely with the Operations teams to ensure new equipment and processes are implemented

The Candidate- Assistant Engineering Manager (Maintenance)-, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

An electrically biased maintenance engineer, qualified to at least ONC/HNC or equivalent standard in
an engineering or maintenance discipline along with either IOSH or NEBOSH certification in Health
and Safety. 
In this hands-on role you’ll be part of a highly skilled engineering team, responsible for the planning
and delivery of planned preventive maintenance for the electro-mechanical equipment at our two
distribution sites, Duxford and Papworth. 
You’ll be an experienced leader able to support the Engineering Manager, managing a team of
technicians and engineers in their absence. 

Key Experience preferred for the role: - Assistant Engineering Manager (Maintenance)-, Cambridge,

 Solid electrical engineering background and mechanical aptitude
 Knowledge of maintenance processes for plant services and electro-mechanical machinery in
a high volume, high quality environment
 Experience in maintaining a wide range of electro mechanical equipment and systems in a
commercial and industrial environment
 Excellent fault finding and problem solving.
 ONC/HNC/BTEC or equivalent in an Engineering or Maintenance (Elect/Mech) discipline
 IOSH Working Safely (minimum) – Managing Safely or equivalent (desirable).
 The following certifications would be advantageous, although training will be provided: 6
Sigma / CI Methodologies, P.A. testing, IPAF, PASMA, PUWER, L8, Asbestos Awareness
 Desirable experience in: DC Control Systems, PLCs, HMI, AC Motors, Motion Control,
Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems, Laser and Camera barcode reading systems, wrapping &
strapping equipment
 Computer literate – Microsoft Office Suite, Computerised Maintenance Management / EAM /
CMMS System, AutoCAD desirable.
