LOCATION: Northampton, Northamptonshire

JOB TITLE: Contracts / Quantity Surveyor

SALARY & BENEFITS: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + Car + Bonus and Healthcare scheme

WORKING HOURS: Full time, typically 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday but must be flexible as per business needs.

THE COMPANY: Our client is a family owned housebuilding company, established in 1928, specialising in well-built traditional homes across the South Midlands. 

THE ROLE: This role of a Contracts/Quantity Surveyor requires a motivated individual who enjoys the responsibility of managing a large number of sub-contractors. Although the office is based in Olney, Buckinghamshire, this family owned and long established company currently has projects in Northampton and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities of a Contracts/Quantity Surveyor to include:-

• Procurement and management of subcontractors
• Cost control and project budgeting
• Report to Commercial Director
• Scheduling of materials and masonry take-offs
• Maintaining and updating payment records
• Monitoring Health & Safety & CDM matters with subcontractors

THE CANDIDATE: The successful Contracts / Quantity Surveyor will have excellent interpersonal skills with good attention to detail. They must have a willingness to be proactive and adopt new ideas and technology. Previous experience of high quality private housing projects is highly desirable.

Key experience essential/qualities for the role of Contracts/Quantity Surveyor based in Northampton:

• Full UK driving licence
• Must live within a commutable distance of Northampton and surrounding areas
• Previous experience in a similar role or environment.
• Relevant industry qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• A passion for detail and quality of finish
