An excellent opportunity for an experienced, commercial (B2B) sales professional who will work on new business strategy and development from identifying new markets and executing plans to exploit these and generate significant new business sales.

About the Business Development Manager role

* Develop leads and acquire new clients
* Research and create target lists and proactive plans for generating leads
* Attend shows and exhibitions as necessary
* Understand the services and products that our client offers and the use of different technologies and devices and sell the benefits
* Make effective face to face sales presentations
* Present at groups and conferences as required
* Develop proposals, quotes and tender documents as appropriate
* Close new business opportunities
* Negotiate commercial terms of sale
* Manage effective internal hand over of the account to the relevant Account Manager
* Where appropriate support Account managers in the first few weeks and months of handover
* Client Management, Tracking and Reporting
* Track and report on relationship development with clients

About you

* At least 2 years of commercial sales and new business development experience
* Strategic creative thinker
* Strong commercial acumen
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent client facing and telephone skills
* Proactive and able to work on own initiative
* The ability to develop and nurture relationships quickly
* Experience of writing winning proposals, quotes and tender documents
* Strong Customer relationship building skills
* Background and experience in consultative sales selling
* This position requires extensive travel and staying away from home on a regular basis
* A full driving licence and access to a car for work is an essential requirement of this position
