The Business Development Manager role will provide the frontline field-based, face-to-face management of our intermediary distribution partners, KBI’s, Investor Groups and key clients. You will represent the Business Banking division , which will offer Business Banking products including secured-lending.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the volume and quality of Business Banking client introductions achieved through self origination, where you will be required to appropriately structure lending propositions and submit credit reports in accordance with our Credit policy; engage with our Intermediary partners, ensuring they are trained on our systems, informed on our products and criteria, comply with our regulations and standards to deliver the right outcomes for customers.

The role will also require you to use your personal network, relationship building and market knowledge to identify and engage high quality intermediary firms to become advocates and supporters of the bank and its intermediary brand. As the bank grows and develops its proposition, you will ensure activity and performance levels are aligned to the overall business plan.

You will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to both those clients you assist in preparing lending applications and our intermediary partners; working closely with our internal teams to ensure quality and compliance throughout the lending application process and product lifecycle. You will be part of an energetic, empowered and capable team that delivers a strong intermediary proposition, a partnership approach to our intermediary firms, market leading customer service, robust first line of defence activities, and product and system enhancements.

The role holder will work alongside the Managing Director, Business Banking, Head of Business Development (Business Banking), Sales Support team, Lending Processing, Products, Marketing and Compliance Team Managers, and report to the Head of Business Development.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Deliver key account plans which deliver high quality volume business via self-originated introductions, own personal networks and Intermediary panel in line with the overall business plan

Accredit new Intermediaries in accordance with our panel management and compliance processes

Facilitate the ongoing relationship management of our Intermediaries and KBI’s.

Design and deliver structured meetings, presentations and comprehensive training material across a variety of activities and audiences.

Ensure all product delivery is consistent and compliant with relevant regulation and quality measures

Maintain knowledge of product, criteria and system developments and accurately deliver this knowledge to the relevant market

Build and share knowledge internally and externally around trends and developments in the financial services marketplace (e.g. regulation, best practice, product developments)
