Your new company
Is an innovative, well-funded start-up with strong growth plans in the Cambridge area, currently developing analytical instruments to fill a gap in the market.
Your new role
Will take the lead on monitoring, managing, coordinating and communicating the planning and execution of all projects related to the technical development of a portfolio of ground-breaking products.
There will be a mix of strategic and tactical responsibilities, and you will be working closely with the R&D team, as well as experts on the Quality and Regulatory aspects of product development.
You will set and monitor metrics, translating these into project plans and budgets; take the lead on incorporating user input into next generation product development activities; manage all development plans from concept through to market launch, making sure all milestones and deliverables developed are clearly communicated; and help to develop long-term product development strategies along with the company's senior leadership.
In order to do this, you will use a suite of project management tools, such as MS Project and Gantt charts.
What you'll need to succeed
Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills, demonstrated by a proven track record in product development and innovation, ideally within the instrumentation or diagnostics sectors.
You will need a strong technical background, ideally biology, engineering or physical sciences, with a degree or significant industry experience.
You'll need to demonstrate your project management expertise, and be able to show when this has been applied to a commercial setting, as well as your ability to build relationships and influence people.
Candidates with a background in small- to medium-size companies are at an advantage for this role.
What you'll get in return
A chance to make a significant impact on the company's portfolio, whilst working in a dynamic R&D environment, with good opportunities to develop as the company grows.
