The Technology division of Exsurgo is recruiting a Web Development Manager for a global fashion Retailer in the heart of London. This is a global opportunity to work directly with the Head of Business Systems & CIO to create a roadmap for their web-based software solutions.

The role
The primary function of this Web Development Manager is to support the business by being responsible for the development & maintenance of their websites and it's strategic roadmap. This role also has the responsibility of managing all parties involved in the development of these solutions including a team of 10. In this role you will be responsible for the following:

- In conjunction with the CIO, Head of Business Systems, Technical Lead and Business Analysis undertake buy vs build reviews of any proposed solutions.
- Management of Web Development Team, collaborate with their Systems Solution Architects to ensure effective development and support of all website applications within the business.
- If required, contract negotiations, review meetings, etc with 3rd parties to ensure the service provided meets agreed service levels
- Define the application & development strategies alongside a data road map for the website

The candidate
In order to be considered for this position you will show demonstrable exposure to the following:

- Must have: Demandware/Hybris or Websphere exposure
- Java EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, SQL (2005 & 2008 R2), jQuery, JS, CSS, Agile, Git
- Nice to have: Ruby / Cucumber, TeamCity, CSS3, mobile dev, Pair programming, CI, OSS involvement (github, codeplex, etc), Mule ESB.
- Experience of leading development projects with internal teams including full project life cycle
- Good communication skills, a good negotiator and comfortable with managing expectations
- Capable of working under pressure
- Knowledge of database design in SQL Server
- Knowledge of common design patterns and architecture
- Experience of full systems development life cycle and development methods
- In depth knowledge of good engineering practices - solid principles and design patterns

The package
Outside of the base salary of £85,000, this position provides a 20% bonus & significant package.
