Job Outline:

My client, whom is an industry leader and manufacture of complex, high speed, telecommunications and optical equipment is now seeking an EmbeddedNetwork Software Engineer to join their expanding team. Due to steady growth, this highly challenging opportunity for an experience product orientated Software Engineer has arisen.

The successful candidate will join the development team and build cutting-edge network interface software; designing, implementing and maintaining software applications in C. Other duties and responsibilities include:

- Designing and developing networked applications using ICP, TCP and UDP via sockets API and managing version control.
- Design, implement and maintain software test solutions for aforementioned applications, as well as implementing Test Harnesses for regression testing.
- Fault finding on associated hardware through software; hands on hardware experience is a requirement here.
- Writing and maintaining design documentation; including RFC Documents.
- Taking part in software release planning, as such a basic understanding of software release processes is requited.

This is a technically challenging role, as such candidates must be willing to work in an evolving environment and be self-starting, flexible, organised and able to learn on the job.

Qualifications & Experience:

You must be fluent in C/C++, Python and have Linux development and scripting experience, using Shell, as well as an understanding of POSIX API.

Any experience with programming in ARM Assembly and Linux Kernel development for ARM Architecture would be advantageous, although not essential.

Experience using other Network Manage Protocol and Standards would be desirable, as would experience with Network Architecture concepts such as SDN and NFV.
