The LRC is currently assisting an international, speciality pharmaceutical group in their search for an experienced pharmaceutical business development professional who is looking to develop their career. They are looking for a Business Development Manager who can join them in London during an exciting and ambitious period in their growth.

The company has ambitious plans to launch over 200 products in the next four years, establish a new manufacturing facility and launch a new portfolio of vaccines into their product portfolio.

The primary objective for the role is to take ownership of identification of new opportunities, identifying target business partners and developing strong relationships and business proposals.

The Client:

The company is a global market leading organisation; operating in over 100 countries globally and being one of few companies involved in both API's and formulations. Following impressive growth over the last few years, the organisation has posted record growth figures in 2015 and have ambitious plans in place for 2016 and beyond.

The Role:

The primary responsibility of the role will be focus on business development opportunities for in-licensing deals, contract development and contract manufacturing. This will be primarily focused on deals for the European business.

Through this, you will be responsible for the analytical identification of new opportunities, evaluation of target opportunities and identification of partners. You will also be responsible for developing investment proposals.

External networking will primarily be focused on companies with expertise in development and manufacturing of oral solids and injectables.

Key responsibilities will include;

- Responsible for analytical identification of new opportunities, evaluation of target opportunities, identification of partners
- Assessment of impact of new deals (comparing profitability of APL v/s that of the partner), and inputs that will help with negotiation
- Developing a strong rationale for investment proposals
- Updating an MIS of new and ongoing deals
- Responsible for Business Development for in-licensing deals, contract development and contract manufacturing. Primary focus is on deals for the European business
- Other BD related activities

The Individual:

- Experience with analytics
- Experience with Business Development deals and proposals
- Contacts at an appropriate management level with injectable and oral solid developers and manufacturers in Europe
- Strong business sense to identify opportunities and develop robust rationale for investment proposals
- Understanding of the European generics space
