We are currently looking for a Body Pre-Development Engineer to work for a major Automotive organisation based in Gaydon, Warwickshire

Job Title: Body Pre-Development Engineer

Rate: From £25.00 to £27.36 per hour Ltd Co.

Hours: 40 per week

The Role:

*The purpose of this role is primarily to drive and manage the delivery of Body Engineering pre development activities across the body complete team (body-less-doors, doors systems, lids, roof systems and glass house)

*Pre development is the activity that takes new technology projects from CR (Concept Ready) to AR (Application Ready)

*AR should be complete by PS/PSC for the target vehicle (dependent on the technology)

*Technology ideas are typically fed from within the Engineering, Design (Design Innovation), Research, AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) or suppliers so relationship building and maintenance is key

*The technologies will focus on new processes, materials, design solutions etc. to improve attributes, cost, weight, meet our studio design aspirations etc.

*The role provides the opportunity to apply Engineering experience and expertise to strongly influence the creation of the next generation of features and technology concepts that will be offered into vehicle programmes

*This is a great opportunity to be at the leading edge of automotive engineering within the Body Engineering team - shaping the delivery of new technical concepts that meet the needs of premium vehicles

Skills Required:

3 Key Skills:

- Body Engineering experience - experience of some/all of the relevant technology areas: Body structures-less-doors, Doors systems, Lids, Roof systems and glass house. Wider Body experience would be beneficial
- Experience of delivering technical projects through a team, utilising strong people management and automotive engineering skills & methods
- Results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance, an individual who is able to deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment

Experience Required:

*Experience of delivering major projects and ability to think strategically

*Experience of building and managing multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments

*Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels

*Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred

*Demonstrable business acumen

*Negotiation and influencing skills

Experience Preferred:

*Strategic and operational, an individual who can set the strategic direction, but who can also work in the detail

*A sophisticated communicator who is able to challenge constructively and communicate complex ideas in business language

*Enables speed in decision making through establishing alignment, clarity, appropriate resources and sense of urgency whilst bringing others along
