An established IT consultancy based in Ipswich is seeking a Java / J2EE Application Support Developer to join their growing team to aid in the development and support of applications across the Finance, Retail and Insurance industries.

Gaining valuable experience across a range of industries, you will have the opportunity to be a major contributor working on a broad range of interesting projects for some of the UK's largest companies.

The successful candidate will be based in their Ipswich office with very occasional travel to their London offices or client sites.

Are you:

1.An experienced hands-on Java Application Support person, with first class customer facing skills and a genuine passion for quality & professional delivery looking for a new challenge?

2.A 1st/2nd/3rd line support engineer with a working knowledge of Java (through university or other) wishing to progress into a development role?

3.A recent computer science graduate with a keen interest in Java, partaking in Java personal projects?

If so, you'll be interested to hear that a leading consultancy based in Ipswich are looking for someone like you to join their application support team as a support developer. You'll play a key part in supporting the development and support of escalated changes to coding and bug fixing. This is a perfect role for someone with 1-2 years' experience in a support/Java role with excellent customer facing skills who enjoys problem solving.

This position would suit someone with:

*A delivery focused attitude with the ability to drive tasks forward and meet demanding deadlines
*Ability to deal successfully with staff at all levels within an organisation
*The ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of people both internally and externally to the organisation (as well as the ability to influence / negotiate)
*Exceptional customer facing skills
*Strong written and presentation skills
*Ability to communicate technical solutions/issues to both technical and non-technical people
*Ability to build excellent customer relationships driven by a desire to understand needs
*Ability to identify the business impact of application problems on the customer

Knowledge/Skills and Experience:

*A track record in designing, delivering and supporting complex enterprise-scale Java/JEE solutions
*Good hands-on development skills in Java/JEE and related technologies
*Experience of REST and SOAP Web Services
*Involvement across the full project lifecycle (to successful deployment)
*Good Unix skills
*Excellent troubleshooting/investigation skills

The reward:

This position is paying an annual salary of £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience.
