To join the team of a worldwide leader in major civil engineering, buildings and transport infrastructure projects working on a highly prestigious civil engineering project in London.

Key responsibilities
The Engineering department has a number of key objectives, namely :
o Ensuring that the works are safely constructed in accordance with design data, standards and specifications and satisfy the requirements of the Client / end user.
o Providing Quality Controlled traceability, demonstrating compliance with design data, standards and specifications.
o Providing value engineering in determining the best solutions to engineering problems.
o Producing site programmes and monitoring wastage, efficiency and progress of the works.
o Advising the commercial departments of contractual issues on site.

Identify works that are additional to the main scope and inform supervising engineers / managers.
Provide accurate dimensional control, and check that established by others, to enable the works to be constructed to the required tolerances. Carry out surveys for design, as-built and payment purposes.
Interrogate design information and determine if there are sufficient details to construct the works. Raise relevant documentation (e.g. TIEs, TQs, CVIs, etc)to resolve discrepancies and anomalies detected.
Know the company procedures and statutory regulations relating to environmental and waste management issues.
Establish and maintain a system for recording design information received ensuring that information is passed to site supervisors, site operatives and specialist contractors.
Assist site foremen and managers in supervising site operatives and sub-contractors ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with design drawings, specifications and standards.
Ensure that site testing in accordance with contract requirements takes place. Where necessary carry out site tests.
Where required provide input into weekly programmes and use them to monitor progress of the works. Schedule materials (e.g. drainage components, reinforcement, etc.) in order for them to be ordered and monitor wastage, producing reports.
Produce method statements and risk assessments and ensure that site operations take place in accordance with documents which detail safe systems of work, e.g. method statements, task sheets and procedures.
Provide feedback to supervising engineers / managers on the effectiveness of materials, specialist contractors, plant and designers being used on site.
Know and understand the Temporary Works procedures and carry out inspections on Temporary Works as required by the TWC.
Carry out Quality Control checks and raise relevant documentation to ensure that third party checks and inspections take place. Raise Non-Conformance Reports for non-conformances that occur.

Qualifications, experience and knowledge:
Relevant degree
Previous experience of large civil engineering marine projects and tunnelling works would be advantageous
Must have an understanding of the requirements and constraints when working around utilities
Be competent in reading design drawings and be able to provide assurance that the installation of the works are in accordance with the design.
Be able to follow the a Test and Inspection plan for any works installed or undertaken
Be competent with drafting Safe System of Works [guidance of the work force]
