We are currently looking for Policy & Advice Associates to join our Compliance and Oversight department. We are particularly interested in talking to candidates with:

* Knowledge and experience of financial crime risks and controls associated with money laundering, anti-terrorism, PEPs, Sanctions Lists and fraud; or
* Knowledge and experience of regulatory risks relating to retail banking; or
* Knowledge and experience of the conduct risks arising from insurance sales.

The Policy & Advice team are responsible for providing commercially aware and timely compliance advice and support services to the YBS Group to ensure that the highest standard of conduct risk outcomes for customers are maintained, within the commercial framework of the Group.

Working as a key member of the Policy & Advice team within the Group's Compliance function, the purpose of the role is to
* Assist with the delivery of commercially aware and timely compliance advice to both the business and to projects, covering a variety of regulatory requirements, including:
o Mortgages
o Savings & Current Accounts
o Insurance & Investments
o Complaints
o Financial Crime
* Assist with the setting of regulatory training strategy for the Society, contributing to the building of a regulatory compliance-aware culture, and providing subject matter expertise where required;
* Build and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure the highest standard of regulatory compliance is achieved and maintained within the commercial framework of the Group;
* Support the Technical Leads in representing the Compliance department on Strategic Initiative projects/programmes, providing regulatory advice and guidance in the development of initiatives to incorporate and embedding an appropriate Conduct Risk culture in Group systems and controls within a commercial operating framework;
* Promote a culture of good conduct risk across the Group

If you:
* Have a good eye for detail to identify irregularities and key risks
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience of Financial Services, preferably (but not essential), working in compliance/risk function
* Have knowledge of UK regulation, including FCA sourcebook requirements and Financial Crime
* Ability to coach and influence others
* Can work accurately on own initiative and to tight deadlines
* Have relevant Compliance or Financial Services qualifications (or willingness to study towards)
* Have strong analytical skills
