We are currently looking for a skilled engineer for a prestigious manufacturing business based in the Manchester area, paying £35,000. The business has a market leading product with a global customer base and is looking to bring someone into their successful engineering team immediately.


Reporting to the Operations Director you will be part of a team running the manufacturing operation. Key responsibilities for the electrical engineering supervisor will include;

- To develop a proactive safety culture through demonstrated leadership

- Co-ordinate contractor activity including, inductions, contractor monitoring, SSOW, RAMS, LOTO and permits.

- Conduct structured RCA on machine failures and implement countermeasures to prevent repeat failures.

- Support delivery of departmental KPI's including MTBF, MTTR and Craft utilisation.

- Purchase of materials, replacements and spare parts in line with the authorisation guidelines established.

- Lead the maintenance team completing regular team talks, identifying training gaps / skills requirements and delivery of individual training plans.

- Co-ordinate HR issues including resource planning, holidays, overtime, sickness cover and contract work.

- To support workplace housekeeping and compliance to 5S programs.


Based out of the Manchester Site, the ideal Engineering Leader will have the following skills and experience;

- Ideal candidates should be educated to degree level or will have achieved certificate HNC / HND / NVQ level 2 or 3.

- Candidates should have at least 3 years experience within an engineering environment.

- A self-motivated individual with an organised approach and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Have experience of capturing, mapping and documenting agreed processes.

- Ideal candidates must a proactive and flexible approach with a positive work ethic.

- The successful candidate must be able to react quickly to daily issues and provide permanent solutions.

- Have knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and how this fits with SMS.

- Be numerate and pay high attention to detail, with knowledge of all Microsoft packages.

- A strong character and leadership qualities are essential.
