Our client is a leading alternative investment manager based in the West End - they have an opening on their Finance team for an ambitious accountant with a desire to pursue a career in Private Equity finance.

Client Details

The firm have over 100 billion in assets under management - although the company is larger in size there is a very flat structure with an emphasis on individual contribution and development.

They have a global presence with investments in a variety of sectors.


The Senior Accountant based in London will have the following responsibilities:

* Preparing monthly cash reconciliations;
* Maintaining entity level fixed asset registers;
* Tracking and maintaining documents, following -up to obtain information as necessary;
* Communicating with payroll service providers and HR for monthly payroll posting;
* Assisting accounting and tax staff with accounting, tax or cash management projects, which may be required to be undertaken from time to time
* Performing monthly, quarterly and year-end closing of books for subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS and other applicable regulations;
* Working with external accountants and professional firms for the timely monthly/quarterly closing of books;
* Performing general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis, including inter-company transactions;
* Accurate and timely reporting of financial information;
* Coordinating the annual financial audits with external auditors;
* Preparing the statutory financial statements including the footnotes and related disclosures;
* Preparing quarterly consolidation package for the corporate headquarters;
* Preparing regulatory, compliance and tax schedules;
* Preparing monthly cash outflow projection schedule;
* Monitoring compliance with local regulatory requirements;
* Participating in and preparing ad hoc projects and analysis to support senior and executive management teams as assigned, and;

Assisting with implementing and maintaining worldwide corporate accounting systems, internal control policies and procedures.


The Senior Accountant will have the following exposure:

* Minimum 3 years relevant experience as an accountant preferably within a financial services firm and or public accounting firm;
* Knowledgeable in financial reporting and general ledger accounting, as well as forecasting/budgeting;
* Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English;
* Extensive knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and accounting control policies, and;

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook, proficiency in Microsoft Navision is a plus.
