Support Workers/Care Assistants wanted for a 35 bedded nursing home incorporating a wing which supports 12 people with enduring mental health needs including dementia. This home is set in the village of Pill which is situated on the southern bank of the River Avon across from the Bristol suburb of Shirehampton. Newly refurbished as part of a national pilot aimed at trialling new ways to improve the lives of people with dementia residents can participate in activities more, have improved opportunities to socialise, better memory stimulation and be safer. As a Support Worker/Care Assistant you will support residents in taking part in activities including arts and crafts, reading, music, aromatherapy, movement, dance and reminiscence. You will provide high quality personalised care whilst demonstrating an understanding of the psychological needs of the residents. Prior experience is not essential. In order to be successful you will be positive, caring and have a willingness to learn. You be committed to delivering a high quality of service which places the residents at the heart of the practice. The hours of work are 37.5 per week on a shift bases which includes early shifts, late shifts and waking night shifts. In return you will receive an annual salary of £15,204pa plus up to 26 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, company pension scheme, childcare vouchers, free parking, access to all levels of training and career progression.
