We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Scientist - Assay Development & Screening to join a growing biotechnology research company based in the Cambridge area. As the Senior Scientist - Assay Development & Screening you will be responsible for planning and overseeing the assay development and screening processes for our clients UK-based antibody discovery facility. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your duties as the Senior Scientist - Assay Development & Screening will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows: 1. Designing, developing, and leading assay development based on corporate priorities and goals, by developing primary cell assays run in other sites for use in Cambridge 2. Align assays to specific projects and targets. Developing high throughput screening for biopharmaceuticals. Integrating biological assays into the antibody discovery pipeline. 3. Managing the scientific activities and performance of a small team across multiple projects. 4. Developing and executing program plans in collaboration with other team members and consultants, including defining milestones and tasks, and estimating resources required to achieve deliverables 5. Collaborating or initiating in the discovery of new scientific targets or methodologies, may oversee projects and studies as designated. Preparing and maintains documentation for scientific methods and products (example, SOPs). Presents data and findings regularly internally within Cambridge and to other sites. Acts as an expert consultant for others within the department, interpreting results, evaluating data, and drawing relevant conclusions. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientist - Assay Development & Screening we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: 1. Relevant Ph. D. in a life sciences related discipline. 2. Proven experience working with antibodies and developing assays for biopharmaceuticals. This will include experience with techniques such as BIAcore and Luminex, amongst others. 3. A working knowledge and practical experience with SOPs, assay qualification, development and validation, as well has having a strong publication record, excellent communication and oral communication skills and managing and working with junior scientists.
