We require a R&D Lead to join our team in Kerry Foods. This role is an integral role for our Meats business. The role of R&D Lead for our Meats business will predominantly be based at our site in Hyde, Greater Manchester with travel locally to our UK and Irish sites a regular aspect of this position. We are open to looking at candidates who may be based in other parts of the UK and Ireland but you need to be very flexible to travelling as it is a key part of this role across the UK and Ireland. This role is interviewing immediately, apply now and don't miss out on this opportunity About this position: To implement New Product Plans in our GB and Irish markets in line with the Kerry vision. Leading a Development and Product Introduction team to create business advantage. Responsible for end to end delivery of the Innovation, CDT and PI pipelines. To be the key interface with the FE Innovation team to set the NPD agenda for the Kerry Brands and Own label. To work within the R&D team to research, develop and validate NPD briefs with excellence in execution. Work with the Operations team to ensure delivery of the projects in a timely manner and against the criteria in the business case. Key Duties: To work closely with the Brand, Innovation and Operation/CDT teams to determine customer orientated and commercially viable NPD activity to support the brand and retailer agendas and deliver long term strategic growth. Maintain pace and momentum of all projects through the process. Plan projects, balance workloads and provide clear direction for the NPD and NPI Team. Perform appraisals, identify individuals training needs and create an environment where people are inspired to perform and ensure an evolving succession plan in place. Manage complex, insights-driven product development projects and ensure their execution meets the time, quality and cost requirements of the BU's. To be involved with setting targets, NPD final sign off, process and launch margins. Ensure 2 way feedback of all project activity between Product Development and FE teams. Overview all Product Development Briefs and project timelines to ensure alignment and delivery. Ensure the transfer of quality standards to the Product Development factory teams and champion ongoing product consistency. Review the quality of existing products via sensory panels. Maintain awareness as to the potential upgrade of existing products giving consideration to site issues regarding raw materials, efficiencies and cost. Work closely with Technical Innovation to drive a program of best in class technology. Maintain awareness of market, consumer and restaurant trends and competitor activity to identify potential business opportunities. Requirements: Degree in Food Science or related discipline 10 years' experience in R&D food manufacturing. Strong project management experience. Chilled/Frozen Food Technology experience Computer Literate Preferably we require candidates who have training experience and meats background experience.
