Commercial Director East Lancashire Salary: Highly competitive benefits package OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB Reporting into the MD, the job holder is responsible for the Commercial function with overall accountability and responsibility to increase value, reduce cost, drive profit and manage risk in a safe and ethical manner. The candidate should be from a manufacturing, distribution or warehousing environment in a similar post. The post holder will be responsible for leading the Department Managers across all functions such as Manufacturing, HR, Logistics, Quality, IT, etc and be responsible for the strategic leadership, direction and development of their growth strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To be a pivotal member of the Senior Management Team and support the Managing Director in delivery of commercial strategies. Lead the organisation through the consistent and fast paced growth, development and business plans. To lead the managerial team including, Commercial, HR, Health & Safety, Logistics and Quality. This will also cover all aspects associated with performance management, appraisals and reviews, disciplinary action and development of the teams. Frequently meet with key clients, contacts and industry professionals. Oversee development of services along with the Directors, Operations Managers and Department Heads. Oversee the improvement of the quality of service alongside the Senior Management Team. Develop ways to drive down costs. Recruit key staff where necessary to fulfil business objectives. Keep a finger on the pulse of the industry, whilst carefully monitoring many aspects of the marketplace that help the company run smoothly. Represent the company at key industry events, speaking and networking to promote the business. · To play an active role in the promotion of health and safety, ISO and quality throughout the business. · To ensure appropriate resourcing and capacity management against varying project demand. · To develop and nurture a team spirit across all disciplines. · Provide solutions, actions and have a proactive attitude to make things happen. . WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH 10 years of working within a Senior Management position with high level commercial responsibilities, excelling in managing teams and participating in business development initiatives. Solid knowledge of performance reporting and budgeting processes. Previous high level experience in a manufacturing based industry. Knowledge of production services and processes would be preferred but not essential. Highly skilled at impressing clients and satisfying customers. Excellent analytic and problem solving skills with a numbers oriented mind. Well versed in Client Relationship Manager (CRM) software - own in house system used. A close eye for detail is critical. Strong natural organisational and skills with an entrepreneurial mindset. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. A passion for quality.
