The Site Agent will be responsible for the day to day running of the site which includes the management of direct and subcontractor resources. He will be involved in the preparation & programming of the works, ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of the resources to meet key programme milestones. The Site Agent will be responsible for all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental aspects of the job. One of these important functions will be to prepare the CPP, EMP, CQP and Work Package Plans for each project. He will also be required to review and approve similar documentation from our subcontractors. To assist the Site Agent to discharge his duties, he is required to strictly follow the company policies and procedures as set out in the company's Information Management System. My client undertakes building and civil engineering works within the rail infrastructure. Their main area of works are: - Earthworks - railway cutting & embankment stabilisation schemes NSIP, AFA and Station Enhancements Tunnel Maintenance Bridge repairs & refurbishment Role Profile Acutely aware of the challenges faced in carrying out works on the railway infrastructure and within live station environments Able to work under tight deadlines and remain calm and focussed throughout Demonstrate ability to effectively manage a workforce involved in multifaceted building and civil engineering activities Can lead by example Ability to motivate others around him Provide mentoring and coaching to other staff and workforce under his charge Flexible & receptive to Clients' changing needs Ensuring Client & End User Satisfaction Being considerate to our neighbours and key stakeholders To ensure all projects come in on time, within budget and to specification. Protect company interest by complying with all current legislations Completion of daily, weekly & monthly returns in accordance with the company's requirements including keeping the Construction Phase Plan Live & Current? Assist commercial team with valuations and cost forecasting Assist the bid management team from time to time as business dictates Act as Delegated Authority in Project Manager's absence Undertake the role of the Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE), or be receptive to training? to attain CRE competence Experience Required Experience in medium to heavy civil engineering, with part of that experience being in rail related environment. The following sector experience will be preferred: - Earthworks & Drainage Structures NSIP, AFA and Station Enhancement Schemes Preferred Qualifications HNC in Civil Engineering SMSTS CSCS Card PTS (AC & DC endorsement) IOSH Environmental Clean driving licence Preferred Competencies All MS suite including MS Project and Powerpoint New Roads & Street Works Act - Supervisory Level Previously held COSS Approved CRE Approved TWC and/or TWS Appointed Persons Working knowledge of Any Line Open? procedures Knowledge of Safe System of Work packs Skills Good communicator at all levels, with ability to provide clear and unambiguous instructions Good organiser, both self and others with ability to think & prepare in advance Good people skills - mediation, management and motivation of people Knowledge Network Rail Standards Good knowledge of plant & equipment and their capabilities & working parameters Broad understanding of general construction techniques and novel methods Behaviour Willing, enthusiastic and flexible in their approach to work Can do & Will do? attitude Diplomatic, patient, sympathetic, understanding & courteous at all times Other Information Willing to work overtime and at weekends as the job dictates Prepared to work away from time to time & This job was originally posted as
