Job Title: Analyst – Fund Management Salary: Competitive Location: London A position has become available at the Carlyle Group for the above position. Main Duties: Fund management/Operations: - Ensure fund is in compliance with Limited Partnership Agreement - Draft/review capital call, distribution notices - Manage cash needs , including coordinating use of fund facility and managing drawing and repaying loan balances including ensuring fund is in compliance with facility covenants - Assist with the valuation process with deal team - Review IRRs and other financial reporting metrics - Preparation of various regulatory filings Financial Reporting: - Quarterly reporting: Review Financial statements, capital account statements prepared by Partnership Accounting - Coordinate drafting of quarterly investor updates (bluebooks) - Prepare quarterly budgets/reforecasts Investor Relations: - Assist with fundraising process , including the drafting and printing of PPMs, drafting pitch books, reviewing and drafting due diligence questionnaires, and working with counsel on drafting LPA and negotiating with LPs - Ensure all LP requests are answered Fund structure: - Work with lawyers to set up legal structure of the deals - Assist in incorporating the legal entities for the deal structure - Assist in reviewing limited partnership agreements - Assist with ensure check the box elections are filed timely - Assist with ensuring entity management system is current for legal documents and amendments - Assist with winding up of legacy funds/partnerships Ad Hoc Projects (examples include): - Collation of portfolio company information for regulatory purposes - Legal & Compliance review Person Requirements: - Significant prior experience in an analytical/financial role in the asset management industry - Strong accounting knowledge with the capability and desire to learn the accounting and financial principles related to private equity and the ability to apply the principles to the tasks at hand - Masters or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance degree preferred. An excellent academic record required. - Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple and fast changing deadlines - Excellent Communication skills (written and oral) - Strong project management and time management skills - Strong interpersonal skills - Strong presentation skills - Ability to apply abstract financial and accounting theory to real world investment scenarios. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team - Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
